A discussion of the experiment at Dallas Baptist College, which attempted to incorporate a systems approach to media-supported instruction into the design of a total curriculum. Reasons for the failure of the program and lessons to be learned from the failure are presented. (HB)

Recently a number of experiments have been performed whose aim was to compare programming language features to determine which programming language features programmers found difficult to use. This paper examines these experiments in light of the evidence that programming language designers would find most useful. (Author)

Methods and optics of perceiving color in a black-and-white grating are described. A sample grating which produces the effect is included. (JN)

Experiments with two distinct collections, using three levels of indexing exhaustively for both documents and requests, show that substantially the same performance is obtained for very different levels of document indexing, if suitable choices are made of request level. (6 references) (Author)
