Psychologists (N=40) were surveyed about reevaluations of special education students. Responses indicated that reevaluations comprised a substantial portion of evaluations, involved a considerable amount of time, and were perceived as an important check on a child's diagnosis and placement. Examined the psychometric properties of the Multidimensional Health Locus of Control (MHLC) Scales with alcoholic patients (N=100). The three MHLC Scales appear to measure largely independent dimensions of locus of control beliefs specifically related to health. Factor analyses suggest that the instrument is factorily valid. This study explored the relationship of cognitive distortions and coping strategies to depression in college students. A measure of cognitive distortions (the Interpretation Inventory) and a measure of strategies for coping with depression (the Active Checklist) were developed and used for this study.
