Surveyed 619 college freshmen to determine how many considered themselves to have drinking problems. Results showed males and youngest children in the family had the most problems. Both males and females who had drinking problems reported stressful childhoods, and were twice as likely to have divorced parents. (JAC)

The perceived problems of medical students were compared with those of students in the other health sciences colleges at the same institution. The medical students were found to have the same spectrum of perceived problems but complained of these problems significantly more intensely on 35 items. (Author/MLW)

Explored perceptions of users and nonusers of counseling services. Identified variables that could capture 75 percent of the variance associated with their desire to work with special education adolescents. Examined the kinds of counseling problems encountered by resident assistants during 1971, 1974, 1977, and 1980. A questionnaire was developed as a result of interviews with resident assistants. Findings suggested relative stability in the nature and frequency of counseling problems encountered by resident assistants. (Author)

Five groups of undergraduate students (dropouts, low stopouts, low persisters, high stopouts, and high persisters) were compared in terms of their use of various campus facilities and their responses to a checklist of personal problems.
