Used a revised alcohol scale to estimate what college students (N=692) would consider to be addiction to alcohol and drugs. The median number of yes answers was computed for alcohol nonusers, users and drug users and nonusers. Overall, students were very liberal in their opinions. (JAC)

Contrasted high-functioning and low-functioning persons in small groups using two studies based on Carkhuff's and Maslow's models of effective functioning. This study replicated Daneman and Carpenter's finding that the reading span test, as a measure of working memory storage and process functions, is predictive of performance on standard reading comprehension tests.
