Elderly mentally retarded persons living in community-based settings (N=39) were compared with those in nursing homes (N=59) with respect to medical status, behavior problems, and formal and informal supports. Examines relationships between gender role orientation and physical health for 103 female and 42 male college students. Gender role orientation is significantly related to health-related behaviors but not to self-reported physical health.
