Geometric matrix problems were presented to 11- and 14-year-olds and adults to investigate latency to solution as a function of number of elements (1-3) and of transformations (0-2) that had to be considered for correct solution. Describes an Employee Participation Plan (EPP) involving teams of three to eight employees and a supervisor/team leader for the purpose of identifying and solving production problems and issues. Classroom teachers who worked with high-skilled consultants improved significantly more in problem clarification skills following consultant contact than teachers who worked with low-skilled consultants. Working with high skilled consultants not only increased the quantity of information about a child but the quality as well. (Author)
