Hoffmann, Eliahu – Information Processing and Management, 1982
This analysis of information contents of documents (i.e., network of nodes which represent facts reported therein and their conceptual interconnections) yields a method for quantitative measurement of such content. Basic premises, calculation, salient features of the method, and information theories are discussed. Four references, graphic…

Robold, Alice I. – Arithmetic Teacher, 1983
Arrays are seen as excellent models for beginning multiplication examples, but that they are often put aside by teachers when they become unwieldly for greater factors, possibly depriving learners just when they need the help. The use of grids made on paper marked in squares is suggested. (MP)

Mathematics Teacher, 1982
The following ideas are shared: (1) a low-stress subtraction algorithm that eliminates the traditional borrowing process, and (2) an approach to graphing circular functions that looks at the process of modifying simple functions as a series of shifting, sliding, and stretching adjustments, with its biggest advantage viewed as its generality. (MP)

Dugdale, Sharon – Mathematics Teacher, 1982
The development and use of an activity that uses the computer's unique capabilities to provide students with a relevant and highly motivating experience with the graphing of equations is outlined. The activity, called "Green Globs," illustrates the potential of developing new environments for learning on computers. (MP)

Myers, Roy – Pipeline, 1981
Two packages in computer graphics are described that can represent three-dimensional surfaces in two dimensions. (MP)
Descriptors: Calculus, Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Geometric Concepts
Mathematics Teaching, 1978
Topics discussed are: triangular numbers; three proofs of the surface area of a sphere; reverse notation; highest common factors; square roots from a graph; and clock geometry. (MP)
