Results are presented of a meta-analysis of a review of studies on the effects on academic achievement associated with matching students and teachers on field dependent-independent cognitive styles. Goldberger, Michael; Gerney, Philip – Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, 1986
This study tested the effects of three teaching styles on the motor skill acquisition of fifth grade children from low and high socio-economic status. Results revealed that, while one style was most productive with average children, exceptional children prospered under another style. (Author/MT)

An initial study in teaching style was carried out among Tasmanian primary school teachers who responsed to a questionnaire regarding ten categories of teaching behaviors and attitudes drawn from research.
