Russell, G. K. G.; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1986
A computerized version of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory was developed that incorporated both administration and scoring. This method was compared with the original manual form. The results indicated that the test-retest reliability was high regardless of the method of administration and that similar results were obtained on the…

Garb, Howard N. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1986
Reviewed studies in which clinicians made judgments and then rated the degree of confidence that they had in each of their judgments. Results reveal little support for the hypothesis that clinicians are overconfident. Confidence ratings were related positively to the validity of judgments in a number of studies. Experienced clinicians made more…

Powers, Stephen; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1986
The internal consistency reliability of the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts (BTBC) was examined for 40 Hispanic and 40 non-Hispanic kindergarten pupils in the Southwest. Subscale and total scale reliabilities appeared to be comparable. This evidence support the reliability of the BTBC for Hispanic and non-Hispanic kindergarten pupils. (Author)

Lundgren, Terry D.; Garrett, Norman A. – Computers in the Schools, 1984
Briefly describes the objectives and design of the MicroRead Index, a microcomputer-based index which utilizes word and sentence length to measure readability of written materials. The program computes a reading level and a consistency index for comparative analysis and determines whether the sample size used was adequate. (MBR)

Budd, Edward C.; Clopton, James R. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Tested the hypothesis that the Repression-Sensitization (R-S) scale assesses self-reported symptoms of psychopathology in two studies (N=142). Results indicated that the R-S scale is influenced so powerfully by self-report of symptoms of psychopathology that its usefulness in assessing repression-sensitization is questionable. (BH)

Vance, B.; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1983
Investigated the interscorer reliability between a novice and a professional psychologist for the Minnesota Percepto-Diagnostic Test-Revised (MPDT-R), using a sample of 30 individuals. Results indicated that for three of the four MPDT-R scores there was a significant positive correlation between expert and novice scoring criteria. (JAC)

Nilsson, Ingvar; Wedman, Ingemar – Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research, 1976
States that, due to confusion of concepts and lack of systemization, "previous studies are often difficult to interpret and consequently...afford little possibility of formulating more precise statements about those errors the concepts represent...." A proposal for systematization is presented. (Author/RW)

Randolph, Justus J. – Online Submission, 2005
Fleiss' popular multirater kappa is known to be influenced by prevalence and bias, which can lead to the paradox of high agreement but low kappa. It also assumes that raters are restricted in how they can distribute cases across categories, which is not a typical feature of many agreement studies. In this article, a free-marginal, multirater…

D. Wood and J. Erskine (1976) and B. Thompson (1989) provided bibliographies of roughly 130 applications of canonical correlation analysis, but the features of such reports have not been widely studied. Schulz, E. Matthew; Sun, Anji – 2001
This study was concerned with ranking items with Likert scale data when the items are subject to systematic (nonrandom) patterns of nonresponse. Researchers applied the rating scale model of D. Andrich (1978) to data from a survey in which the item response rate varied from less than 1% to over 90%. Data were from a section of the Student Opinion…
