Putting the Pieces Together and Asking the Hard Questions: Transfer Associate Degrees in Perspective
Wagoner, Richard L.; Kisker, Carrie B.
New Directions for Community Colleges, n160 p91-103 Win 2012
The previous six chapters have focused on particular aspects of the processes involved in implementing transfer associate degrees in various states. In this chapter, the authors synthesize that information by presenting an ideal state-level organizational model for implementing these degrees and describing the various constituencies involved in the process and their motivating interests and values (which, as seen in the previous chapters, may not always be aligned), as well as the types of negotiation and compromise needed to successfully honor these perspectives. Finally, the authors offer a view to the future and ask some hard questions regarding the future of transfer associate degrees. (Contains 2 figures.)
