Be the First to Arrive and the Last to Leave Your Class
Finck, Joseph E.
Journal of College Teaching & Learning, v9 n1 p27-32 1st Qtr 2012
Many books and articles on teaching strategies and techniques, as well as manuals prepared by college teaching and faculty development support groups, stress the importance of being organized, engaging the students, and faculty making themselves available to their students. This paper discusses how being the first to arrive and the last to leave helps address all these issues and more. It describes some strategies before and after class that may enhance the classroom atmosphere and the faculty's connection to the students. (Contains 1 table.)
