My Child Is Gifted in Math--Now What?
McGee, Christy D.
Parenting for High Potential, v1 n1 p4-5 Sep 2011
As chair of the Parent and Community Network, the author gets e-mails from parents asking how they should handle their gifted child. Concerns range from super sensitivity to enhancing content areas in which their children excel. Although differentiated instruction is a hot topic in the field of education, many parents find that the teacher with whom their child is working may have not fully adopted this practice. In this paper, the author talks about working with the child who exhibits exceptional mathematical talent and the types of intervention to keep him or her challenged.
