Promoting Effective Staffing Practices in Student Affairs: A Review of 10 Years of National Conference Curricula

Staffing practices in student affairs administration are important functions that impact the success of the organization and students served. This study used the Integrated Model of Staffing Practices (IMSP) as a framework to examine the type and frequency of conference programs related to the IMSP offered by 2 national student affairs associations over a 10-year period. Results include trend data for each function of the IMSP presented at conferences for each association. Recommendations for professional associations and graduate preparation programs in student affairs administration are also provided. (Contains 2 tables.)
