Getting Connected
Larkin, Patrick
Principal Leadership, v12 n1 p22-25 Sep 2011
That the world outside schools is changing faster than ever is old news. Unfortunately, that the world "inside" schools is changing at a glacial pace is even older news. As school leaders, principals have an important choice to make as they move into the second decade of the 21st century. School leaders have a moral obligation to connect and collaborate to help all students. U.S. schools simply cannot go where they need to go if school leaders do not model the expectations that they have for staff members and students. Social media tools offer principals powerful ways to connect to their peers and model productive technology use. In this article, the author discusses how to use social media to connect with and learn from other principals.
