Working with Latina Adolescents in Online Support Groups
Archuleta, Debra J.; Castillo, Linda G.; King, Jennifer J.
Journal of School Counseling, v4 n1 2006
Latina students face many challenges that can lead to school dropout. Although school counselors have the skills and training to provide counseling and guidance to students at-risk for dropping out of school, they are often placed in positions where their role is primarily administrative. This paper describes an online support group developed by two rural school districts and a university counseling program in order to address the needs of Latina students. (Contains 2 footnotes.)
