School Counseling Intern Roles: Exploration of Activities and Comparison to the ASCA National Model
Leuwerke, Wade C.; Bruinekool, R. Matthew; Lane, Amy
Journal of School Counseling, v6 n8 2008
Examination of 6,556 hours of school counselor interns' activity logs provided a detailed description of roles and activities. Comparison of counselor intern activities to the ASCA (2005) National Model found consistency between responsive services at the elementary level and both responsive services and guidance curriculum at the middle school level. Identification of time on planning and inappropriate tasks provides a clearer picture of school counseling interns' activities in the school. (Contains 2 tables.)
