An Example of Linear Mappings: Extension to Rhotrices
Aminu, Abdulhadi
International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, v41 n5 p691-698 2010
Let U and V be vector spaces. A mapping T : U [right arrow] V is linear if for each u[subscript 1], u[subscript 2] [is an element of] U and each scalar alpha; T(u[subscript 1] + u[subscript 2]) = T(u[subscript 1] + T(u[subscript 2]) and T(alpha u[subscript 1]) = alpha T(u[subscript 1]). We extend this mapping to the case when U and V are rhotrix vector spaces and present its properties. We also proved that a recently proposed method of converting a rhotrix to a special matrix called "coupled matrix" is a linear mapping.
