In this postscript the authors summarize where Sun, Tweney, and Wang (see record 2010-06891-015) now agree with their original analysis and where differences of opinion remain. Sun et al.'s (see record 2010-06891-018) postscript contrasted two positions, one emphasizing the "limited and finite nature of people's experience" and one emphasizing the "overlapping" of local sequences. To the current authors' mind, there should be no such contrast: Both aspects are necessary for the results of their initial article. Basically, neither component seems interesting without the other. Both points were part of the original authors' argument for the subtlety of the gambler's fallacy. Possibly, Sun et al. still do not find that argument persuasive, but it seems they now consider those two basic points sound.
