A Creative Application of Solution-Focused Counseling: An Integration with Children's Literature and Visual Arts
Leggett, Elsa Soto
Journal of Creativity in Mental Health, v4 n2 p191-200 2009
In order to facilitate young clients' verbal and nonverbal expression of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, it is necessary to consider therapeutic approaches designed especially for children and adolescents that combine the use of talking and playing (Orton, 1997). This article shares an overview of a creative application of solution-focused counseling that integrates the use of children's literature and visual arts techniques. A case illustration is provided.
