Green Campuses, Green Programs
Silvia, Amanda
New England Journal of Higher Education, v23 n2 p30 Fall 2008
Colleges and universities throughout the nation are stepping up their environmental accountability. All 50 states are represented in the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment, a "high-visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse-gas emissions and accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize Earth's climate." Nearly 90 presidents of New England institutions have already signed the pledge. In this article, the author offers a rundown of some clean and green efforts at New England campuses.
