Administrative IT
Grayson, Katherine, Ed.
Campus Technology, v20 n4 p43-52 Dec 2006
When it comes to Administrative IT solutions and processes, best practices range across the spectrum. Enterprise resource planning (ERP), student information systems (SIS), and tech support are prominent and continuing areas of focus. But widespread change can also be accomplished via the implementation of campuswide document imaging and sharing, a new approach to request for proposal (RFP) writing, or the reassessment of disaster recovery strategies and tools. A new user-friendly interface that invites recalcitrant fundraising officials to use their advancement software, or washing machines that announce from cyberspace that they're ready to be unloaded, can also significantly impact life on campus as people know it. This article presents the best administrative practices of various colleges and universities.
