This chapter examines the use of popular theatre as a methodology to investigate racialized minority girls' processes of identity formation and experiences of exclusion and belonging in predominantly white, urban Victoria, B.C., Canada. The article draws on transnational feminist frameworks that emphasize intersectionality and locality to understand girls' processes of identity formation, cultural knowledges of exclusion and racialization, and practices and discourses of resistance. The article offers suggestions to assist practitioners, researchers, and policy-makers who wish to engage with expressive and theatre-based methods. (Contains 11 notes.)
