The Integration of Teaching Dispositions into a School Library Media Program
Campos, Lydia; March, Gail; Jackson, Lynne
Library Media Connection, v27 n6 p20 May-Jun 2009
Creating a tendency for their students to act in a certain manner under a given circumstance is exactly what library media specialists are about. This is something they do teach. They have two main purposes as library media specialists. One purpose is to create and support the love of literature. A second purpose is to develop ethical users of information in an environment that promotes character, academic excellence, and responsibility. They foster positive attitudes among their students through modeling. By modeling the behavior they want their students to exhibit when they leave high school, they provide them with a "pattern of behavior" that will yield success.
