LibQUAL+ and the Community College Library

Community colleges can use market surveys to better understand the delivery of library services from the standpoint of the end user. One such survey, LibQUAL+, measures library service in three dimensions: 1. Affect of Service (patron interaction with library staff); 2. Information Control (availability of needed resources and ease of accessing); and 3. Library as Place (the physical environment). Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois, used LibQUAL+ in 2005, and as a result of the survey, added tenure-track staff, increased the house at two satellite campuses, and made updates to its information delivery capabilities.
