Uruk, Ayse Ciftci; Bridges, Sara K.; Cogdal, Pamela
Journal of College Student Psychotherapy, v20 n2 p53-65 Dec 2005
The current study sought to better define the impact of change on a college student population and how they perceived themselves as coping with change. One hundred and seven college students were asked to report any change they had experienced in their family composition and to complete the questionnaires assessing coherence, symptoms of adjustment, and coping. The results of this study indicated no significant differences between the group who reported a significant change in their family composition and those who had no change. The results are discussed with an emphasis on the implication of these findings for counseling with college students. (Contains 2 tables.)
