Going Solar Yields Long-Term Economical, Educational Benefits
von Moos, Brian
Techniques: Connecting Education and Careers (J1), v84 n3 p34-35 Apr 2009
Going solar is not an easy decision, but a long-term investment with a potentially substantial up-front cost. While some schools have enough capital in reserve, can raise bond money, or can solicit sufficient donations, many schools rely on creative financial programs to make a solar energy system economically feasible. Thinking about going solar requires consideration of many issues, including economic, construction and educational factors. The author shares insight about how schools can make the transition with the right planning, financing and community support.
