Teaching Centers, Libraries, and Benefits to Both
Warner, Joni E.; Seamans, Nancy H.
Resource Sharing & Information Networks, v17 n1-2 p29-42 2004
Campus teaching centers dedicated to improving instruction are commonplace today in academe. This article presents ways in which libraries and teaching centers have developed partnerships and identifies benefits for both entities. Specific examples are drawn from the authors' two institutions, including a review of the ways that relationships were developed and how both the teaching center and the library have benefited. Additionally, the authors suggest ways in which other institutions might develop these kinds of relationships or expand those that already exist, and identify other campus units that may provide valuable partnerships for academic librarians.
