Primary Factors Related to Multiple Placements for Children in Out-of-Home Care
Eggertsen, Lars
Child Welfare, v87 n6 p71-90 2008
Using an ecological framework, this study identified which factors related to out-of-home placements significantly influenced multiple placements for children in Utah during 2000, 2001, and 2002. Multinomial logistic regression statistical procedures and a geographical information system (GIS) were used to analyze the data. The final model included delinquency, sexual abuse, minor health problems, and mental health problems. Implications for child welfare practice, training, and policies are discussed, as well as recommendations for further research. (Contains 6 tables.)
