The Zero Exposure Project: A Community Initiative Addressing Substance Abusing Women and Their Newborns
Colen, Lisa Price
Zero to Three, v27 n4 p49-54 Mar 2007
The Zero Exposure Project is a public awareness campaign in Hillsborough County, Florida, designed to educate the public on the dangers of combining substance use with pregnancy. The authors describe the process of building the campaign from its original conception and share the challenges and successes of their collaborations with community social service agencies and health care providers. Successful strategies include coordinated messaging through print and television, a toll-free hotline, a Web site, and a local conference for service providers.
