This article talks about the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) conference in Reno, Nevada, which provides an opportunity for all school librarians to learn more about the new technologies that are revolutionizing the information landscape, and decide which digital tools will work to support their students and teachers. The preconferences and programs, for professionals at all grade levels and with all degrees of technological savvy, offer multiple examples of ways to lead schools in being digital. Unlike a single one-size-fits-all computer program or a proprietary database or CD-ROM, today's edgiest Web 2.0 technologies--podcasting, blogging, and wikis--are easy to learn and do not require local software installations. Instead, these intuitive, browser-based interfaces with a familiar word processing feel allow teachers and students to participate in the read/write Web and to retrieve usergenerated content via RSS feeds. Here, the author discusses the importance of explaining Web 2.0 in schools and how to use Web 2.0 technologies to support school library services.
