Providing the Best for Families: Developmentally Appropriate Home Visitation Services
Bouhebent, Edith
Young Children, v63 n2 p82-87 Mar 2008
For families who might otherwise be isolated--socially, economically, and/or geographically--home visitation can be a highly beneficial family support service. Drawing on her experiences with Family Connections, a home visitation initiative serving families with children birth to age 5, in Fresno County, California, Bouhebent conveys best practices for home visiting. Practices focus on either supporting home visitors or supporting the families served, and Bouhebent illustrates each practice with an example.
