Doing Time
Catterall, Rona
Mathematics Teaching Incorporating Micromath, n209 p37-39 Jul 2008
Telling the time is not an easy skill to teach. Ask any adult how they would begin teaching a child to tell the time and the response is likely to be hours, halves and quarters. Why? Because they were taught that way. In this article, the author describes a different method--one that is developmental and leads to a more exact reading of the time.
