No Longer the "Poor Man's University"

Adults Learning, v19 n6 p28-29 Feb 2008
Museums, libraries and archives can offer fantastic opportunities for adult learning in their own right. Many know that what is on offer can complement and enrich the opportunities offered through the more formal adult learning sector. The schools sector has long-standing links with museums and libraries. In adult education there are less developed, though growing, links. In this article, the authors discuss how the Museums, Libraries, and Archives (MLA) staff are increasingly seeking to develop learning opportunities and are using a framework which articulates clearly the potential outcomes of adult learning. This offers educators the potential to develop new experiences for their learners and enhance their perspective of learning.
