Standards challenge educators on a regular basis to integrate technology into their content and methods courses. Students today access the Internet which in many cases, if students see it on the Internet they believe it. In this article, the authors present an experience wherein teacher candidates were randomly assigned a twenty-minute lesson to teach. They were instructed to implement the assigned lesson plan with the option of making minor adjustments. One teacher candidate gave a lesson that used ice cream cones and eight flavors of ice cream but all of her given answers were incorrect. She responded that the lesson she gave was presented exactly as it appeared on the official web site of the professional mathematics teachers' society. In the authors' point of view, this experience highlighted the fact that one cannot trust everything on the Internet, even when it is posted by professional societies. (Contains 1 table.)
