Getting to It: Here's What I've Learned
Krajewski, Bob
Principal Leadership, v8 n7 p48-51 Mar 2008
In this article, Fr. Carl Markelz and Harold Maldonado, two veteran inner-city principals, share how they have learned to use their time more efficiently. Fr. Markelz is the principal of Mount Carmel High School, a 900-student, all-male, parochial school in an area of Chicago, Illinois, that is experiencing regentrification. Maldonado is the principal of Stevens High School in San Antonio, Texas, a school of 3,100 students, 48% of whom are Latino. Both Fr. Markelz and Maldonado stress making goals as realistic as possible, and each offers three tips for efficient time usage.
