Modifications for Students with Learning Disabilities in Inclusive Settings

This article presents communication tools that general and special education teachers can use as they collaboratively plan for instruction and modifications for students with learning disabilities in inclusive settings. The first two tools are planning forms that describe the student as a learner; the third tool is a classroom information form that identifies key information about the general education classroom instruction and skill demands. These forms are designed to be completed by teachers independently and then used as accessible sources of information as teachers work together to plan for the student. They can also be used by teachers in a joint meeting where information is shared, with the forms serving as written records or guides for discussion. (Contains 3 figures.)
