The Evolution of Communication from Hieroglyphics to DVDs
Fitzgerald, Mike
Tech Directions, v65 n9 p14-18 Apr 2006
Communication spreads knowledge worldwide. It could be argued that "communication" is one of the greatest human achievements. In this article, the author briefly describes some key technologies associated with the archiving and communication of information. Since communication technologies continue to evolve at a fast pace, he simply focuses on some that he considers most important. He also includes an activity based on the inventiveness of Thomas Edison that teachers can use to introduce the topics of communication and recording technology.
