Getting to Know Audrey Flack
Passmore, Kaye
SchoolArts: The Art Education Magazine for Teachers, v106 n8 p27-29 Apr 2007
This article presents a profile of artist Audrey Flack. Though she may be best known for her huge, personal photorealist paintings filled with feminine objects, since the 1980s she has been sculpting monumental godesses, many for civic projects. Born in 1931 and raised in New York City's Washington Heights, she has been influenced by art throughout her life. As a constant troublemaker in school, she spent a lot of time out in the hall, usually drawing on a large sheet of oak tag. This article focuses on her philosophy, education, and her work as an artist. (Contains 4 resources and 1 online resource.)
