The Role of Urban Community Colleges in Educating Diverse Populations
Hagedorn, Linda Serra
New Directions for Community Colleges, n127 p21-34 2004
This chapter uses data from the Transfer and Retention of Urban Community College Students project to provide evidence of success among racially diverse students in the Los Angeles Community College District. Through interviews with student services personnel, it also describes the specific efforts that may be responsible for this success. In addition, it provides insight into the current and anticipated effects of severe budget cuts on minority student success initiatives. (Contains 1 table.)
