A Service Is Not a Need
Luker, Calvin; Luker, Tricia
Exceptional Parent, v37 n2 p31-32 Feb 2007
The key to a well-written, well-reasoned Individualized Education Program (IEP) is clearly identifying and writing measurable goals and objectives. The single most important part of that process is identifying and understanding a student's needs. This essential first step is the best way to prepare for the search that will produce the most appropriate services that address those needs. In this article, the authors present an example of an IEP approach to prepare a student to make and keep friends.
