So Tell Me Again--Who's Locked in the Chinese Room?
Cutler, Ann
Journal of College Science Teaching, v34 n5 p8-9 Mar-Apr 2005
In this article, the author discusses how teachers should not merely teach their students content-mastery and problem-solving skills. She believes that teachers should learn about the sources of their students. The author discusses that in order to effectively teach students, teachers must not give everything to their students. Students must be able to acquire the skills to solve problems with minds and with hands and with others. The best students master the ability to assess the state of their own mastery.
