What's the Big Issue? Creating Standards-Based Curriculum
Hider, Glenn R.
Technology Teacher, v65 n4 p30-35 Dec 2005-Jan 2006
"Technological Issues" is one of a series of standards-based curricula being developed through the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Technology and Science (CATTS). This curriculum has been developed by the author of this article over the past year and a half. In this article, the author describes what it takes to develop a curriculum that is standards-based, relevant but not dating itself, and that can please the many consortium constituents. The author suggests that the simplest approach is to look at this curriculum development as a system: inputs (guiding principles), processes (how to develop standards-based curriculum), output (the curriculum), and feedback (what the reviewers reacted to).
