Validating the AP[R] German Language Exam through a Curricular Survey of Third-Year College Language Courses
Bischof, Deborah Lokai
Unterrichtspraxis/Teaching German, v38 n1 p74-81 2005
Curriculum surveys are used periodically to validate the use of Advanced Place Program[R] (AP[R]) Exams as assessments of skills required for advanced college-level study. In the case of AP German Language, the target level is third-year college language study. This article presents results from a 2003 curriculum survey completed by third-year college-level instructors of German across the United States. This Web-based survey was conducted simultaneously for French, German, and Spanish. A high response rate in German was due in large part to the collaborative efforts of the AATG.
