Meeting Learning Challenges: Working with the Child Who Has Attention Difficulties
Greenspan, Stanley I.
Early Childhood Today (1), v19 n1 p24-25 Sep 2004
There may be many different reasons why children have problems paying attention. One child might be visually oversensitive. Another child, who is oversensitive to smells, might be distracted by the teachers' perfume. Auditory sensitivity can be just as distracting. As such, it is important to remember that children with developmental difficulties may have several problems at the same time. In this article, the author discusses how teachers can work effectively with children with attention problems. He also provides strategies on how teachers can understand the reasons why children have difficulty paying attention.
