Family and Consumer Sciences Curriculum: Learning a New Process Collaboratively
Handy, Deborah J.; Wyatt, Marla
Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences, v97 n1 p45-50 2005
In an effort to assist family and consumer sciences teachers with the huge task of rewriting local curriculum to meet new state and national standards, a statewide collaborative effort was implemented in Washington. Teachers worked in groups around the state to create curriculum for frequently taught courses. While the groups worked together to outline content, the group members helped each other learn a new system for reporting curriculum that is required by the state. This effort has successfully assisted teachers in updating courses in a local autonomy state. (Contains 1 figure.)
