During the fall of 2004, public broadcasting stations across the United States will be airing an exciting, six-part series: Broadway: The American Musical. Made possible through the generosity of a number of funders, this series details the history of the American musical theater from its humble beginnings to today's multi-million dollar productions. The series contains first-rate content that will offer viewers perspective on political, cultural and economic developments spanning more than a century of musical theater. The series will be especially useful to teachers and students in language arts, social studies, theater, music and art.
