After-School Databases: Enriching Non-Academic Resources for Advancement
Young, Terrence E., Jr.
School Library Journal, v51 n4 p88 Apr 2005
Most school library media centers have a number of resources available to assist in the career planning process. Typical career-planning books cover writing resumes and cover letters, the interview process, job banks, occupational descriptions, and salaries. Keeping current on careers can be a costly endeavor for school library media center budgets. Online career information databases provide not only the latest information, but allow it to be accessed simultaneously and through remote access by faculty and students. Databases can provide the information students and faculty will need to prepare for and advance in the workplace. This article provides information on a selection of databases that offer students information on planning their futures.
