The Job Detectives Connecting Curriculum And Community
Biggs, Edward
Learning & Leading with Technology, v32 n1 p32-35 Sep 2004
This article describes a project that integrated technology into a classroom unit as part of a project (Project MEET) sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Education. The project goals were linked to the Massachusetts History and Social Science Framework that focuses on the differences between work and play, and was based on the use of email to connect first graders with "Mystery Workers" in their community. The project was later used as a model for integrating technology into the primary curruculum, and was expanded to included other grade levels.
