Back from the (Nearly) Dead: Reviving Indigenous Languages across North America
Johansen, Bruce E.
American Indian Quarterly, v28 n3-4 p566-582 Sum-Fall 2004
This document discusses the teaching of Indigenous languages. Immersion programs have become very popular over that past few years, and serve as an effective tool to teaching languages. In addition to language immersions, conferences and language revivals are also effective tools in teaching languages. This document provides an overview of these tools related to teaching Indian languages to Native Americans. (Contains 50 endnotes.)
