Using Concept Mapping To Aid African American Students' Understanding in Middle Grade Science.
Snead, Donald; Young, Barbara
Journal of Negro Education, v72 n3 p333-43 Sum 2003
Examined the effectiveness of concept mapping on the science achievement of African American middle grades science students distributed into eight different classes by ability level. Results of this quasi, non-randomized, control-treatment group, pretest-posttest study found no significant overall effects of treatment on science achievement. There was a statistically significant effect between concept mapping and student achievement among the average ability (lower) level students. (SM)
